
Now in its fifth year, the annual Glasgow Film Festival brings together cinema from around the world, past and present, old and new talent. Every year, the festival’s scale and reputation grows, which requires increased perseverance and commitment, not to mention manpower.

GFF09 looks set to be the best fest so far. Why? Well, apart from the usual star guests and premieres, we will be receiving YOUR help. That is, if you think you’re up to the task…
Well, aside from valuable work experience with one of the most prestigious festivals in the UK, volunteering at GFF is a great opportunity to be part of an exciting fast-paced event with lots of like-minded film lovers.
And of course, there'll be parties and the chance to see films for free.
We are seeking Volunteer Coordinators to lead our front of house voluntary team, allocating tasks and timetables, assisting with events, checking venues, sorting promotional material and keeping everything in order. Ideally, you will have experience in or be studying events management or a related field, as well possessing excellent people and communication skills. Are you a great leader? The placement will run from Monday 9 February – Sunday 22 February with a minimum of six shifts during the festival.

Working front of house in all of our venues, you’ll be on the front line in the thick of the festival, helping with ushering, information, evaluation research and events. Ideally you’ll be great at thinking on your feet, you’ll be friendly, helpful and work well under pressure. Previous work experience in a cinema or other venue is a bonus but isn’t essential.
The placement will run from Thursday 12 February – Sunday 22 February with a minimum of six shifts during the festival.

We are seeking Guest Coordinators to liaise with our festival guests. This will involve meeting and greeting guests, making hotel and travel bookings, co-ordinating travel/chauffeuring to and from venues and making sure everything runs smoothly. Ideally you’ll be personable, extremely organised, helpful, confident and happy to be the face of the film festival for our special guests.
The placement will run from Thursday 12 February – Sunday 22 February with a minimum of six shifts during the festival.

We are seeking Press and Marketing Assistants to liaise with the festival photographers, man the picture desk, send out press releases, respond to press requests and to newspaper and media enquiries about the festival and to manage the distribution of press tickets. The role also includes sending out daily e-newsletters to our subscribers and putting news updates online.
This position would ideally suit a marketing or media / journalism student or recent graduate looking for experience in this field.
The placement will run from Monday 9 February – Sunday 22 February with a minimum of six shifts during the festival.

We are seeking a Print Transport Coordinator to supervise the collection and delivery of film prints to and from GFF venues. You’ll need to look after hundreds of film prints arriving from all over the world and ensure that the right print arrives on time at the correct venue for each screening. Ideally, you will have excellent administration and communication skills, great attention to detail and good time management skills. Driving license desirable but not essential.
The placement requires the ability to work 22/23/27/29/30 January, 3/5/6 February and festival dates (12-22 February).

We are seeking Print Runners to assist the Print Transport Coordinator and the projectionists across all GFF venues. Ideally you’ll have lots of common sense and great organisational skills. This is a physically demanding post so lots of energy is required! Driving license desirable but not essential.
