Handsome Harry
The State of Independents
Cult director Bette (Variety) Gordon returns to filmmaking with this powerful journey into the dark heart of male friendship. Jamey Sheridan brings a compelling intensity to his role as Harry, a former Navy man called to the bedside of a dying friend (Steve Buscemi) preoccupied by the transgressions of the past. Harry has a hazy memory of what really happened one long ago night and sets out on an obsessive quest to reconnect with his guilty comrades and make amends to the man they wronged. Fused with an atmospheric jazz score, this plaintive ensemble drama also features John Savage, Aidan Quinn and Karen Young.
