A Congregation Of Ghosts
Edward Woodward’s film career included outstanding performances in The Wicker Man and Breaker Morant. Inspired by true events, plaintive British feature A Congregation Of Ghosts gave him a final great role as the Reverend Densham. In 1932, Densham returned from missionary work in India to begin his pastoral duties in the remote Cornish village of Warleggan on Bodmin Moor. His fierce piety soon alienated the local congregation and he became an isolated, increasingly eccentric figure. In 1967, new owners arrive at the Rectory to discover that Densham continues to haunt the area.
We are delighted to welcome Director Mark Collicott to the Saturday 20 February screening(6.00) at GFT.
