Chopin: Desire For Love (Chopin. Pragnienie Milosci)
Widely recognised as one of the most historically accurate films on the life of Frederic Chopin, Chopin: Desire For Love offers a remarkable combination of gorgeous images and an impeccable soundtrack of great performances from the finest classical artists including Polish virtuoso Janusz Olejniczak, Yo-Yo Ma, Emanuel Ax and Yukio Yokoyama. The heart of the film is the relationship between Chopin (Piotr Adamczyk) and the feminist author Aurore Dupin (Danuta Stenka) better known as George Sand. To mark Chopin’s birthday the film will be preceded by a 20 minute piano recital by Aleksander Kudajczyk - the unsurpassable Chopin virtuoso, who has made Glasgow his home and who has just returned from a tour of Australia and Indonesia. Part of Chopin 2010 celebrations.
