Bomber
Paul Cotter’s wonderfully droll little gem of a road movie marks his first feature after a number of eye-catching shorts. It is notable for its polished visuals, dry wit and expert central performances. Alastair is in his eighties and has decided to personally apologise to the residents of a small German village that he accidentally bombed during World War 2. A road trip is planned with his wife Valerie but when Alastair proves a less than reliable driver their son Ross is bullied into the role. Minor frictions and longstanding grievances come bubbling to the surface during their bittersweet and ultimately poignant journey.
We are delighted to welcome Shane Taylor, Benjamin Whitrow and Eileen Nicholas to the screening alongside Director Paul Cotter who will be introducing the film and then will host a short Q&A session.
Thanks to Boris Films.
