American: The Bill Hicks Story
The ferociously funny, eternally fearless Bill Hicks died in 1994 from pancreatic cancer. He was just 32 and one of the most revered stand-up comics of his time. This unconventional biography captures the full flavour of the man and his art by using an innovative animation technique, previously unseen footage and the affectionate personal testimonies of the friends and family members who knew him best. The result is a perceptive, unvarnished account of the man and his determination to speak the truth about everything from America’s misguided foreign adventures to
his alter ego Goatboy.
We are delighted to welcome directors Matt Harlock and Paul Thomas who will be introducing the film and then will host a short Q&A session.
Thanks to Matt Harlock & Paul Thomas.
