Adrift (A Deriva)
Apologies, but due to circumstances beyond our control, Adrift has been replaced by an additional screening of That Evening Sun. Apologies for any inconvenience this causes.
The familiar territory of marital strife and adolescent conflict isexplored with sympathy and assurance in Adrift. Set in Brazil during the early 1980s, it offers a bittersweet remembrance of a defining summer in the life of a teenage girl. The story unfolds during a family vacation in Buzios. Filipa is fourteen and the eldest of three children. Her father, played by Vincent Cassel, is a successful French writer intent on finishing his latest novel. Filipa’s discovery of her father’s affair plunges her into the complexities that await in the adult world. A handsome, accessible drama from a director to watch.
