Zero Focus (Zero No Sh'Ten)
Departures - New Japanese Cinema
Seicho Matsumoto is renowned as one of the finest post-War Japanese thriller writers. Zero Focus was originally published in serial form in the late 1950s and became one of his most popular titles. Previously filmed in 1961, it has now been brought to the screen in a sumptuous new version that remains true to the late 1940s setting and the story of a young woman whose husband goes missing shortly after their wedding night. The quest to discover what became of him forces her to turn detective as she uncovers dark secrets and a shocking truth in this supremely stylish Hitchcockian suspense story.
This film has changed from Screen 18 to Screen 16 at Cineworld, Renfrew Street.
