The Silent Army
An unsentimental drama on the plight of African child soldiers, The Silent Army combines the gritty authenticity of a documentary with the pace and adrenaline rush of a thriller. Eduard owns a restaurant in an unnamed African city. When his wife is killed in a car accident, Eduard is left with the responsibility of raising their nine year-old son Thomas. When Thomas’s best friend Abu is abducted during an attack by rebel soldiers, Eduard goes in search of the boy on a journey that opens his eyes to the injustice and violence that has been all around him. A sensitive, hard-hitting tale fuelled by righteous anger.
